Welcome
From Mechanisms to Meaningful Change, Connecting discovery, diagnosis and care in neuropathic pain.
The IASP Neuropathic Pain Special Interest Group is delighted to invite you to the 10th International Congress on Neuropathic Pain – NeuPSIG 2027 – in Helsinki, Finland, 2–4 September 2027.
NeuPSIG’s mission is to advance the understanding of the mechanisms, assessment, prevention, and treatment of neuropathic pain. The NeuPSIG Congress is our flagship international meeting, bringing together clinicians, researchers, healthcare professionals, and trainees from across disciplines to exchange the latest advances in neuropathic pain research and clinical care.
For NeuPSIG 2027, we are developing an ambitious scientific programme that will span the full spectrum of neuropathic pain research: from fundamental mechanisms and translational science to clinical phenotyping, diagnostics, prevention, and emerging treatments. The programme will combine plenary lectures, different types of workshops, oral abstract sessions, poster presentations, and opportunities for discussion and collaboration across disciplines.
Key themes will include:
- Emerging mechanisms and molecular targets in neuropathic pain
- Advances in phenotyping, biomarkers, and precision pain medicine
- Novel pharmacological, non-pharmacological, and neuromodulatory treatments
- Translational approaches linking basic science with clinical practice
- New technologies, methodologies, and data-driven approaches in pain research
- Neuropathic pain across different diseases, patient populations, and clinical settings
We will also invite the neuropathic pain community to help shape the programme through speaker nominations, workshop proposals, and abstract submissions. We wish to ensure broad representation of scientific disciplines, career stages, geographical regions, and perspectives from across the field.
The congress will take place at Messukeskus Helsinki, Finland’s largest congress and exhibition centre. Helsinki offers a cool Nordic setting for the meeting: a compact and welcoming capital on the Baltic Sea, where science, design, architecture, and nature are close. Early September is also an excellent time to experience the city, with the final long days of the Nordic summer and easy access to the waterfront, islands, parks, and – for those who wish to fully embrace Finnish culture – a sauna.
NeuPSIG has always been a highly interactive meeting, and we hope that Helsinki will provide an inspiring setting for scientific exchange, new collaborations, and discussions about where the field of neuropathic pain should go next.
We very much look forward to welcoming you to Helsinki, 2–4 September 2027.
